Chairman Wang Xiaofei Was Invited to Attend Promotion Conference of Two-way Cooperation between Countries and Local Governments along “The Belt and Road” of China International Import EXPO in 2019

On November 6, as one of the supporting activities of the 2nd China International Import EXPO in 2019, the promotion conference of two-way cooperation between the countries and local governments along “One Belt and Road” was hosted by China Association for International Economic Cooperation and held in Shanghai,  Wang Xiaofei, Chairman of Zhongke Electric Power Equipment Group was invited to attend the conference.

At the meeting, Cui Mingmo, President of China Association for International Economic Cooperation, delivered a speech. The representatives from Congo, Angola, Azerbaijian, Tajikistan, Russia and other “The Belt and Road” countries and Lanzhou, Lianyungang, Tongren, Yichun, Huaihua, Zhongjiang and other Chinese cities and counties made excellent presentations.

Among them, the promotion speech delivered by Lianyungang Mayor Fang Wei about the theme of “Discuss the Economy of Free Trade Zone Together, Promote the development of Lianyungang” caused the attention of all parties.

In August this year, the State Council just approved the establishment of China (Jiang Su) Free Trade Pilot Zone” covering Nanjing,Suzhou, Lianyungang three areas, the total area of 119.97 square kilometers. Along them, Lianyungang area is 20.27 square kilometers (including Lianyungang Free Trade Zone 2.44 square kilometers), this is another rare development opportunity for Lianyungang since ranking among 14 coastal open cities in 1984.

By coincidence, Chairman Wang Xiaofei and Lianyungang Deputy Mayor Wu Haiyun sat next to each other at the meeting, the two sides held in-depth communication on the investment and cooperation after the meeting.

Mayor Wu said, Lianyungang as the first city in domestic having entity project of “The Belt and Road”, now is striving to build strong support for the development of the junction of “The Belt and Road”. Today’s Lianyungang is much more than tourist city as people think. It has become a comprehensive transportation hub linking“The Belt and Road” , an international logistics center and a new highland of open economic development . Involving “The Belt and Road”, Lianyungang will focus on the theme of “High-quality Development,the Latecomers Surpass the Formers”, striving to seek an innovation road of the port prospering the city, industries strengthening the city and green development.”

Chairman Wang Xiaofei said that Zhongke Electric Power had gradually added a new development orientation in recent years through “The Belt and Road” project cooperation, developing a new profit model. We work together with the countries along “The Belt and Road” to build the large-scale substation and hydropower station projects, participate in the upgrading projects of state electric power line in South America and Africa countries,becoming the active practitioner of “The Belt and Road” initiative, the current export business has accounted 40% of the Group’s total business.

Chairman Wang Xiaofei said that Lianyungang is the eastern starting point of the new Eurasia Continental Bridge. The construction and implementation of Jiangsu Free Trade Pilot Zone, Lianyungang area will deepen the reform and opening-up of Lianyungang. Zhongke Electric Power hopes to take the advantage of Free Trade Zone to strengthen the exchanges and cooperation between the countries and regions along “The Belt and Road” and to contribute to the creation of Lianyungang “Golden Age”!
